About Me

My photo
Dr. James E. Walton, Ph.D.
I help people find answers to anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflicts and transitions. By combining experience, compassion and understanding with humor and a direct approach, I provide action plans for making progress in your life. As the host of KCSN 88.5 FM "Shrink Rap," I interviewed the great international leaders of mental health while honing my own skills with the masters for my clients' benefit in developing more effective techniques, deeper insights and better coping strategies for living a more rewarding life. I take a positive, active approach to Marital Therapy that breaks through communication blocks to build listening skills and intimacy that heals resentments and develops the closeness that leads to loving relationships. In May 2009, my couples guidance was featured in Cosmopolitan Magazine. I am active in the therapy process, giving feedback, handouts, homework and growth directed challenges. On LAtherapist.com, I offer free self-help audios and videos on helpful topics. Come in for a free consultation where we can discuss your needs in person
